Traditional Values
Safeguard traditional marriage
Traditional marriage is the essential
building block of society. Forty years of social science research
shows that children are better off emotionally, physically, and
economically when raised by a Mom and a Dad. Research also shows
the emotional, physical, and economic benefits of marriage to
adults.
Patricia supports the Federal and State Defense of Marriage Acts,
the Virginia Marriage Affirmation law, and the Virginia state
constitutional amendment that defines marriage as between one man
and one woman.
Defend the life of the unborn
Patricia has always been pro-life.
For the last 15 years, she has worked promoting pro-life
legislation with Concerned Women of America. A basic tenet of the
American judicial system is to give the benefit of the doubt to the
party that has the most to lose. Clearly, the unborn child has the
most to lose in the case of abortion. Our federal Constitution and
the Virginia Bill of Rights defend the right to life, liberty, and
property. Patricia always has and always will defend the life of
the unborn. At the same time, we as a society need to be caring and
compassionate to the young women with unplanned pregnancies.
