About Patricia

Patricia Phillips has been involved in political and community affairs throughout her life, including church and professional associations. Patricia won the Republican nomination for the 33rd State Senate district in 2007 and waged a competitive campaign as a first time candidate against incumbent Mark Herring. Since then she has been elected President of the Loudoun County Republican Women's Club. Prior to announcing her candidacy for State Senate, she was the Precinct Operations Chairman for the Loudoun County Republican Committee and State Director of Concerned Women for America of Virginia. She was active in the effort to pass the Virginia Marriage Amendment to the state Constitution in 2006. Patricia has lived in Sterling for the last 20 years. She was born on June 28, 1957 in Greeley, Colorado. When she was a young child, her family moved to McLean, Virginia, where she was educated in the public school system, graduating from Langley High School in 1975.
The following fall, she enrolled at Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she majored in Nutrition. While there, she participated in an intern program with the Department of Agriculture regarding the National School Lunch Program. After graduating from college, she married her High School sweetheart and worked for Fairfax County School Foodservice, serving lunches at Churchill Road, Weyanoke and Oakton Elementary schools.
Following a second temporary position at the Department of Agriculture, she founded Phillips Resources, in 1985 to advise clients on the nutritional goals and priorities of the school nutrition programs. Her consulting experience includes networking and coalition building among diverse constituents and navigating federal, state and local laws, regulations and polices.
Phillips has been married to Christopher Phillips for 27 years. They have two daughters.
